Community Guidelines
Effective August 27, 2026
FlexaPay lets the people in a plan share things with each other: a plan’s name, its events with their titles and notes, polls, links you paste, and the labels on an expense. These guidelines cover all of it — wherever you can type something into FlexaPay, these are the rules for what goes there.
What’s not allowed
Use FlexaPay lawfully and decently. Specifically, don’t post:
- harassment, threats, or impersonation of anyone, including using a name, username, or identity that isn’t yours;
- fake expenses or settle-ups, or anything meant to mislead or pressure another member of a plan;
- adding people to a plan who haven’t agreed to be there;
- hateful content, including slurs or attacks on someone for their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar;
- sexual content;
- threats of violence or harm;
- spam, scams, or promotion unrelated to the plan;
- anything illegal, or that promotes illegal activity.
This applies to a plan’s name, its events and notes, polls, links, and expense labels alike — everywhere you can write something in FlexaPay, this is what we expect of it.
Reporting content and people
Every piece of shared content can be reported from where it lives: an event from its own screen or by long-pressing its card, a poll from its ⋯ menu, an expense from its ⋮ menu, and a link by long-pressing it. A plan can be reported from its own actions, and a person can be reported from their profile. Reporting is anonymous — the person you report is never told who reported them — and every report is reviewed by a person on our moderation team, not just a filter.
Blocking
Blocking someone takes effect immediately and hides you from each other everywhere in the app. If you share a plan with unsettled balances, you both stay in it until those balances are settled — the other person’s presence is hidden from you in the meantime — and once they are, you’re free to leave. Manage who you’ve blocked, or undo a block, from Me → Blocked.
Automatic filters
Alongside reports, FlexaPay checks text on the server when it’s saved — a plan name, an event, a poll, a link, an expense label. Content that matches known objectionable language is refused before it saves, so it never reaches the other members of a plan.
Enforcement and appeals
Depending on what we find, we remove the content or suspend the account responsible — repeat or serious violations lead to suspension, as described in the Terms of Service’s suspension section. If your content was removed or your account suspended and you think we got it wrong, you can appeal through the Support page; we review appeals against the report and the moderation record behind the decision.
How fast we act
Reports go to our moderation team through an internal review queue. We aim to review and act on every report within 24 hours.
